The Prize

This year, the Hard Hat Hero won a trip for two to Charlotte, North Carolina where they'll get the chance to stand in the pit at the Charlotte Motor Speedway during the Bank of America 500 and watch the No. 95 car with their name printed on it.

Congratulations to our 2018 Hard Hat Hero

"Chris Caricato has been a member of Sheet Metal Workers Local 206 in San Diego for 26 years. For the last 6 years he has served as the apprenticeship training director, a position he doesn't take lightly. Chris makes sure students are mentored and trained in safety such as OSHA, CPR, First Aid, fall protection, and others. To him, safety isn't a priority, it's an unyielding value. A safety award-winner, Chris makes sure all members continue their training, keeping this generation's workers safe."

Thanks to everyone who entered for helping us shine a spotlight on the amazing people in the industry. This contest is now closed, but make sure to watch the big race and see our hero's name printed on the No. 95 car.

Meet the 2017 Hard Hat Hero

The 2017 Hard Hat Hero winner was Gary Fogarty, a project manager from North Carolina. Gary's wife, Rebecca, nominated him, saying, "My husband Gary is the hardest working person I know. He leaves for work at 5 in the morning and doesn't get home until 6 in the evening. He is a leader instead of a boss. He helps out his team and works alongside his people instead of simply instructing them." Gary invited the two runners up, Don Baker and Elijah Gallien, to join him for his prize.
