Calling all future industry leaders. A graduate or cadet program could be the first step to opening a whole world of opportunity. These programs offer the ability to work alongside global leaders that have an abundance of experience and invaluable knowledge to offer. These comprehensive development programs involve on-the-job training and structured learning in numerous skills. Take a look:
Global construction company Multiplex is currently advertising for Cadets and Graduates in Australia.
It’s looking for people who are studying or have studied a degree in Construction Management, Building, Engineering, Quantity Surveying, Architecture or another related field. The program will develop technical and behavioural skills, including Safety, Environmental, Quality, and Site Supervision, among others. Successful applicants will meet experts across all disciplines, who will help enhance learning and development across the business.
Mulitplex is known for developing well-rounded, broad-thinking graduates who become future leaders of the business, including their very own CEO of Multiplex Australasia John Flecker.
Flecker shares his own experiences to inspire those who are just starting out in the industry. John started with Multiplex as a Cadet Site Engineer in 1987 and progressed to CEO in 2011.
“Having started 32 years ago as a Cadet, I was fortunate to have challenging projects to work on and to be surrounded by people with an incredible depth of knowledge and experience, which most importantly they were willing to share,” said Flecker in a company release.
Multiplex commences its Graduates and Cadets at various stages throughout the year, between July 2019 through to January 2020.
Those who are currently studying can apply for a position as a casual Cadet, whilst those who have graduated or are due to graduate this year can apply for a full-time Graduate role.
Applications close on March 29, 2019 at 5pm (EST). Click here to find out more.
Another notable Construction Company, John Holland, is also seeking Graduates for their 2020 intake in both Australia and New Zealand. The program gives the opportunity to network with senior leaders across a diverse infrastructure and property business.
Jason Beutel is another example of a graduate success story—CEO Magazine reported that Jason is a graduate recruit who became CEO of one of Australia’s leading structural, civil and construction engineering consultancies, Robert Bird Group.
Jason joined the team after graduating from UTS QLD in 1994 with First Class Honors in his Civil Engineering Bachelor Degree. “I guess these days it’s rare to find people who’ve spent their entire career working for just one business. But I can truthfully say I’ve never considered shifting. I’ve never had a reason to.”
In the 25 years that Jason has been with Robert Bird Group, he’s seen it grow from a single office in Brisbane to a name that represents engineering excellence around the world. The company now has offices in all major Australian cities along with London, Dubai, Hong Kong, Kuala Lumpur, Bangalore, and Wellington.
To follow in the footsteps of Jason, you can find out more about graduate programs at Robert Bird Group here. You have until March 17, 2019 to apply.
