Field order
A document issued by a construction manager or owner to provide contractors with clarification and requirements for performing work not included in the contract documents.
A field order is an instruction given on-site to make changes or perform additional work that was not originally included in the contract. It allows for flexibility in the execution of work but should be documented and approved to ensure compliance and proper billing. It is typically issued for a minor change that is considered essential to the completion of the work but does not affect the contract price or project timeline.
