With the aim of delivering eye-catching landmarks that offer more than traditional square building design, Ananda Development PCL used cutting-edge technology to construct their opulent masterpiece, Ashton Asoke-Rama 9.

It’s a stunning twin-tower project, fifty floors high, in the centre of Bangkok. Considering the size of the city (approximately 10.7 million people), proximity to public transportation is of utmost importance. So Ananda endeavoured to build a suite of condominiums that innovatively combine convenience and luxury.  Sitting 230 metres away from MRT Rama 9, a central transportation hub, the twin Alpha and Omega towers are designed so that each unit is a corner unit—giving nearly 500 units sweeping cityscape views.

Integrating Data for a Powerful Outcome

As pioneers in construction innovation with a vision to embed technology in every process of the build, Ananda recognised two key features that would push them forward: centralised data and consolidated reporting. This created a single source of truth for the project and connected multiple, disparate teams.

They brought their vision to life through a tech partnership. By having an integrated, core software platform, all stakeholders from owners to builders to subcontractors, could see updates in real-time and use actionable data insights on this ambitious project.

“Our goal over the past two years has been to develop the professional standards of our contracting teams… and we now have the data to share with contractors to highlight potential improvements…,” said business digitisation manager, Thanit Thanadirek.

With the newly onboarded technology, Ananda began employing the platform to make informed decisions more frequently, combating the unrelenting pressures on labour and shortages from the supply chain.

Contractors were centrally tracking data in the platform, providing a real-time, transparent view of materials and costs. Using a built-in correspondence tool, the third-party contractors were also able to create their own forms and collect data resulting in improved productivity, more reliable forecasting and ultimately, cost improvements.

This was a turning point for contractor buy-in for the Ashton Asoke-Rama 9 development. The business saw a 40% gain in efficiencies while the condominiums were built with control and visibility at every step.

Ananda’s knack for seamlessly adopting the latest technology only bolstered its quality standards. Using data directly from various platform tools and integrating them with their own internal safety database analytics, they ensure standards are met and incidents are meticulously managed.
