From our beginnings as a producer of poles in Sandpoint, Idaho, in 1916, we now have just over 107 years of pole experience behind us. Formerly McFarland Cascade, the company today is Stella-Jones Corporation, a subsidiary of Stella Jones Inc. (SJ, TSX). We currently operate treating facilities in Eugene and Sheridan, Oregon; Tacoma and Arlington, Washington; Silver Springs, Nevada; Scooba, Mississippi; Whitmire, South Carolina; Rison, Arkansas; Lufkin and Jasper, Texas, Noble and Pineville, Louisiana; Brierfield, Alabama; Cameron, Wisconsin; Cordele, Georgia; Warsaw, Virginia; New Westminster, Galloway and Prince George, British Columbia; Carseland, Alberta; Delson, Gatineau and Sorel, Quebec; Truro, Nova Scotia; Kirkland Lake, and Guelph, Ontario. Stella-Jones also has long term capacity utilization agreement covering production from East Point, Georgia. Stella-Jones Corporation is currently the largest manufacturer of utility poles in North America. In addition to our treating facilities, we are able to provide enhanced logistics and supply reliability through our rail car fleet, soon to be in excess of 1,000+ owned/leased railcars; a combination of company owned, and independent trucking resources; and a large network of company operated distribution facilities located throughout North America. In response to the wildfire threat, Stella-Jones Corporation now supplies poles specially wrapped with intumescent coated fiberglass mesh. The same material is also available in rolls, to allow customers to apply the fire resistant wrap to existing poles installed in the field. Our company’s success is based largely upon our commitment to long-term operating results, a very strong financial position, a stable and highly experienced team of employees, a safe and productive work environment, consistent quality, and a broad network of facilities that assure reliable access to raw materials. Our state-of-the-art plants exceed every EPA regulation. Stella-Jones’ commitment to the environment has been recognized by the communities where we live and work. Stella-Jones takes a leadership role in service as well. With dedicated 24/7/365 Customer Service/Emergency Response support delivered through a national network of Treating Plants and Distribution Yards, the technical infrastructure to execute e-commerce (EDI) in support of any program our customers require, a wide variety of services including local inventory support, Vendor Managed Inventory (VMI) and Consignment inventory programs, Stella-Jones brings best in class service and value to our customers.
