A Partnership that Lets Landmark Structures Innovate at Scale
For a leader in Water Infrastructure, Procore Carves a Path to Smarter Growth

The Challenge
Landmark Structures, a leader in water and industrial storage projects was experiencing the challenges of scaling in a rapid growth environment. Landmark outgrew their legacy tools for managing their internal processes such as submittals, RFIs, and safety inspections. The fragmented approach of using custom developed tools for each area of the construction process led to costly inefficiencies, including questions of data integrity, version control, and difficulties in coordination. This posed a risk to Landmark’s ability to effectively manage an increasing number of concurrent projects.
The Solution
To streamline operations and support its growth objectives, Landmark conducted an in-depth evaluation of construction management software. After testing several options, Landmark selected Procore for its user-friendly design, extensive solution suite, and powerful API. Landmark was also drawn to Procore's collaborative approach, recognizing the company’s commitment to partnering with clients to create an optimized platform tailored to industry needs.
The Results
- Reduced time spent on project administration by centralizing project data and automating workflows, which led to streamlined project execution
- Business growth through scaling operational efficiencies allowed an increase in projects, without additional staff while still maintaining high productivity
- Standardized processes and workflows provided greater control, ensuring more predictable outcomes and increased profitability, leading to increased investments in the organization
“We do not just build water towers. We partner with our customers to understand their water infrastructure challenges and lead them to the best solution. Using Procore demonstrates we take that partnership seriously. We are using the best solution to manage our customers' projects.”

Landmark Structure
Innovative Specialty Contractor with Commitment to Innovation
Since its founding in the early 1970s, Landmark Structures has established itself as an industry leader in water infrastructure solutions. Through the invention of the Composite Elevated Tank, a steel tank with specialized concrete pedestal, Landmark transformed the elevated storage market, altering our landscapes today. This invention made possible the ability to safely build large capacity and multi-functional structures with the lowest capital maintenance and lifecycle costs. This solution is widely used across North America.
A commitment to innovation and efficiency has been a driving force in Landmark’s growth, enabling the company to tackle complex infrastructure challenges across North America. However, as Landmark expanded, managing multifaceted projects with custom-built database tools and spreadsheets created increasing operational strain and risks.
In Landmark's dual role as both general and self-perform contractor, CIO Adam Billmeier notes the limitations of their legacy system, where teams relied on traditional document storage to track all project information. “Multiple people were trying to work on the same information simultaneously, and the project files were disconnected from our database systems. It was chaotic, and we realized this approach was unsustainable.”

Efficiency Gains Drive Rapid, Company-wide Buy-In
To support continued growth, Landmark sought a construction management platform that would streamline operations, enhance data accuracy, and offer a mobile-friendly interface for field teams. After a thorough evaluation process that included testing multiple vendors, Landmark selected Procore for its user-friendly design, extensive suite of solutions, and advanced API capabilities.
Procore’s forward-thinking approach aligned well with Landmark's vision for scalability and future needs. Billmeier states, “Procore had the most built-out API and the best strategic fit for where we wanted to go.”
Landmark initiated its Procore integration with the Quality & Safety solution, replacing a custom EHS system that field teams had long struggled with. “Replacing our safety tools was the first step, and it worked like a Trojan horse,” Billmeier says. “Once the field teams saw how much easier the system made their work, we gained buy-in across the organization.”
The immediate improvements in usability and real-time field documentation helped secure company-wide buy-in. Procore's centralized reporting and change order management tools allowed for a proactive approach to project tracking, supporting Landmark’s efforts to accelerate schedule, control risks, and enhance operational efficiency.

A Partner That Supports the Corporate Mission
For Landmark, partnering with Procore is about more than just improving efficiency, it’s a reflection of the company’s commitment to innovation and leadership. By leveraging Procore’s mobile platform, Landmark transitioned away from outdated laptop-dependent systems, enabling real-time data access and reporting directly from the field. This mobile functionality, paired with Procore's centralized reporting, enabled early identification of potential project delays. Additionally, Procore’s powerful API allowed Landmark to integrate it with other line of business systems and build custom alerts, facilitating rapid responses to quality and safety issues. Billmeier states, “If someone submits an inspection with failed data, our quality team is alerted immediately—without the need to open Procore. This real-time reporting helps us address issues before they escalate.” Landmark also applied their alert system to safety reporting, ensuring swift communication when incidents occurred. “Quickly distributing safety related information is critical. If an incident report is entered in our system, an alert is immediately sent out notifying our corporate safety team, the project team, and all key stakeholders. That responsiveness is crucial,” Billmeier adds. By implementing Procore, Landmark further strengthened its reputation for innovation, with Director of Project Controls Michael Wise affirming, “Procore has become a cornerstone in helping us achieve our mission, making sure our field teams work efficiently, and our customers remain satisfied.” “By using Procore, it demonstrates to our customers that we take their partnership seriously. We are making significant investments to ensure we’re delivering the best solutions at all times for their projects,” Billmeier adds.
